Ravi International – Conta blender is used to mix or blend dry powder as well as for blending dry granules for tablets or capsule plant. The system is in use all over the world for the powder and granules blending in pharmaceutical industry. It has replaced completely the conventional blenders like “Y” shape / Double Cone or Ribbon type. The granules can be mixed and lubricated in this blender. The main advantage of this system is that it is totally closed & dust free.

In conventional type blenders, the charging & discharging used to be very time-consuming causing a lot of dust generation in the process. In Conta Blender, the powder or granules are transferred through a dust-tight duct into the container or bin through an openable manhole on top. The Bin is then loaded in the Cage and rotated at 5-20 rpm through a Variable frequency drive. After blending the Bin is removed from the cage through the trolley & the cage is loaded with another Bin.

Conta Blender first lifts the bin from the horizontal and then rotates the bin along its axis of the fork at the desired rpm. Bin is first brought close to the fork and its sides are locked by means of the fork arm. Now once the container is securely locked, the fork assembly lifts up the container as much as desired and then starts rotating at the desired rpm. A timer controls the duration time and after the blending is over the container stops at the position where it can be safely lowered on a mobile trolley.

SALIENT FEATURES:

The container is skewed by 30° in the horizontal plane before it is being raised for blending. The horizontal skew axis is 10°. This dual blending axis results in gyratory motion for proper blending.
Use of square or rectangular container ensures material going from one side to another as it is rotated ensuring perfect blending.
Bins designed as per EURO standards and are made as per the latest cGMP standards.
In built lifting arrangement for containers.
There is a position of Bin stopping zero degree clock sensor with brake to assist lowering of container vertically.
The bin-locking arm has a proximity switch, which prevents the drive to run unless the locking arm is properly locked. Unless & until the bin is locked properly the drive will not run.
The presence of the bin in the lock area is sensed through a sensor, so if a bin is not placed in the fork arm then the sensor will not allow the blender to start.
If the cage blender stops due to power shutdown then when you start it back after the resumption of power the blender will run only for the remaining time and not total time.
All drives & open parts are properly provided with a suitable SS guard.

Salient features of Conta (Cage) blender :

Bins designed & manufactured as per the latest GMP standards.

Container can be raised at any height under the ceiling so that partial dispensing can be done from the container.

Use of square or rectangular BIN ensures material going from one side to another & also cross flowing of material, as it is rotated ensuring perfect blending.

METHOD OF OPERATION :

Container has four castors at the bottom on which one can roll it comfortably under the cage blender frame. For heavy containers, one can use fork lift pallet truck to transfer the containers.

After bringing it under the frame, operate the hydraulic drive system which lifts the bottom platform and this bottom platform lifts the container along with its castor wheel and it raises the container till it gets locked with the top frame positively. This activates a sensor which than allows the blender to start.

After blending time is over the container stops exactly in a position where container is vertical position and then it could be lowered on it’s four wheels.
