A fluid bed dryer is used for is a kind of equipment that can be used for applications like drying of powders, mixing of powders, and agglomeration.
The fluid bed dryer is used for is efficiently employed for applications in chemical, pharmaceutical, dyestuff, foodstuff, dairy, and various other process industries.
Fluid bed dryers are used for are often employed with the spray dryers and granulation systems for effective drying, mixing, granulation, finishing, and cooling of powdered substances.
These are often preferred over rotary dryers for drying and cooling a wide range of polymer materials which require precise control of residence time and temperature for effective processing.
Fluid bed dryer available range from 30 kg to 500 kgs batch size.

Fluid Bed Dryer description
Fluid Bed Dryers manufactured by us offer a simple solution to the drying of products. Our fluid bed dryers are designed to introduce the hot air stream at the base of the product container which is filled with the material. This airstream expands the bed of material at a certain velocity & solid particles move within the product container. The phenomenon is known as fluidization & offers conditions that are almost ideal for drying. Fluidization produces full agitation of solid particles & since each particle gets surrounded by hot air, heat transfer is extremely high & uniform.
They occupy comparatively lesser floor space, are very easy to operate & can dry material in less than 30 to 40 minutes as against a tray dryer which will take 6 to 7 hrs. to dry the same material.
SUITABILITY
The Fluid Bed Dryers are most suitable for drying granular, crystalline, coarse, or similar materials in pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, dyes, food & allied industries. It is also possible to dry fine crystals or coarse materials in fluid bed dryers.
BATCH SIZE
Batch size indicates the weight of the wet product (inclusive of moisture). Our model RV-FBD30 can take a batch size of 30 to 40 Kgs. of weight material. Similarly, model RV-FBD200 can process about 200 to 225 Kgs. of wet material to be loaded per batch depends upon the bulk density of wet material.
OPERATION
The wet material is introduced into the dryer as a batch of material in a product container which is provided with an air distributor plate & dutch weave. Induced drought is created by blower & fresh air is sucked into the unit. after filtration, clean air passes through heating elements. This hot air then passes through the product container, creating turbulence in the product, and hence the product moves up & down in the product container. Due to this, the heat transfer is quick & the product is dried fast without appreciable loss of heat. Filter bags prevent particles from escaping from the dryer.
HEATING
Fluid Bed Dryers can be supplied in electric heating, steam heating, or hot water/coil circulation system. Electrically heated dryers are provided with electric heating elements & are suitable to raise the temperature by about 70 d. C. (i.e.from 30 d.C. to 100 d.C.). Similarly steam-operated dryers are provided with steam radiator suitable to raise the air temperature by about 60 d.C. to 70 d.C. depending upon pressure of steam. Generally, dryers bigger than RV-FBD-60 are incorporated with a steam heating system, as steam heating is more economical.
DRYING TIME
The drying time depends upon various factors such as physical properties of the material, moisture content, type of moisture (free moisture or water of crystallization), drying temperature, etc. The crystalline products can be dried faster than an amorphous product containing the same percentage of moisture at the same temperature. Generally, pharmaceutical granules or crystals containing free moisture of about 20% to 25% can be easily dried in about 30 to 40 minutes at a temperature of about 80 d.C. Certain crystalline materials containing about 40% of moisture can be dried in Fluid Bed Dryer within 35 to 45 minutes.
IMPORTANT
In case the product contains solvents or inflammable substances it is essential that the dryer is steam-operated & provided with a flameproof motor.
